Choosing Hardwood Flooring

Hardwood floors are a great addition to any home. Not only do they look great, but they can also up the resale of your home. Installing hardwoods can be difficult when you don't know what to look for or who to hire. FloorGem is here to help you with your choice of hardwood flooring.

Choosing the right hardwood floor is important. There are different types of wood and different widths. This is something you want to think about before installing. As with most things, prices change depending on the type of wood and the width. There are two types of wood you can choose from, red oak and white oak. There are also two widths, 2 1/4" and 3 1/4". You also want to choose the quality of the wood. For example, the best quality for the red oak would be red oak select. The next best would be red oak #1 and then red oak #2. It would be the same for the white oak.

There are some other costs to consider when installing hardwood floors. Shoe molding is also an option when you have your floors installed. You may also want to consider carpet and furniture removal.

Doing research online can help you see just what you can expect. You can also use it like a checklist to make sure you have considered every aspect of installation.
